New Features Coming to Hungary’s Immunity Certificate Application

Hungary Today 2021.05.31.

A new update to Hungary’s immunity certificate mobile application will be available by mid-June, which will show the date of when a user received their second dose of vaccination. The application will also show what type of vaccine has been administered to its user, pro-government daily Magyar Nemzet reports.

The National eHealth Infrastructure (EESZT) mobile application was made available in mid-May on IOS and Andriod, as a more detailed version of the Hungarian immunity certificate.

In places where a visitor is required to show an immunity card, the service provider can now check the app to see whether the individual is vaccinated instead of asking for the actual immunity card.

This makes life easier for those who have already received a vaccine but have not yet received their immunity certificates (people in Hungary get their card after their first covid shot).

The app is also an important tool for the government, as it is their only way to invalidate immunity cards of people who skip their second covid shot.

Although those who wanted to use the application in the first days after its launch faced several technical problems, the software is now much more reliable.
