Motorway Construction Top Priority For Hungarian Government – Map!
Both PM Viktor Orbán and cabinet chief János Lázár spoke several times about the Hungarian government’s plans to connect all major Hungarian cities to the national motorway network. According to news portal index.hu the construction works mean extraoridnary big burden to Hungary’s budget and the timing of the construction suspiciously coincides with the political preparations for next elections.
What we know for sure based on the government’s resolutions, that until 2018, the year of next parliamentary elections in Hungary, about 310 billion forints will be spent on motorway constructions, and the government also plans to spend further 440 billion forints for the same purpose in 2019 and 2020, index.hu said. However, Hungarian citizens will be able to reach cities and towns like Szombathely, Salgótarján, Hódmezővásárhely, Sopron and Veszprém much more comfortable and faster in a few years time, and the positive impacts of such development is hardly debatable.
