About 40-50 millimeters of rain fell on Sunday afternoon at the northern part of Zala county in Hungary. Roads and streets were impassable, cellars and basements filled up with water especially between the county seat of Zalaegerszeg and Keszthely.
The Defense And Emergency Committee of Zala County had a meeting on Sunday night and visited the damaged places. The National Directorate General for Disaster Management, the local Waterworks Company and the Holding Companies of the damaged cities works on the crisis management. Flooded areas will be disinfected after pumping and cleaning is carried out.
Although roads and railways were blocked with broken trees and swamped with water, they were passable by Monday afternoon for traffic.
