The 444.hu has found the information in Magyarközlöny, the government made one million billion forint budget for Mária Schmidt’s Foundation of the Central European history and society. Aim of the financial support to make Imre Kertész memorial centre.
She has already got 1 billion forints to organize fiftieth anniversary year of 1956.The Hungarian New Agency wrote that the institution has made a contract with Kertész’s wife, and they will maintain the Nobel laureate’s heritage. The details of the deal are not public yet.
There are some uncertainties because Kertész gave all of his manuscripts to Academy of Arts in Berlin before his death. It is not clear yet what the Hungarian memorial centre is going to do without the manuscripts, but in they say, they duty is studying the texts, which belongs to Berlin.
Furthermore they are going to collect personal items connected to the writer (letters, photographs, voice-recordings and videos). The institution is also planning to make exhibitions of his personal relics, conferences and other events. The writer’s library is also going to move the memorial centre.
