As a collaboration between the Síaréna Ltd. and Pannon University, a gigantic, 1.5-kilometer long slide will be built in Eplény this summer. The project managers’ dream is to open the world’s longest slide in Hungary.
Intersport Síaréna (Ski Arena) Eplény announced in a Facebook post that together with the Economy Department of Pannon University, they are creating a large-scale, all-season tourist attraction in Eplény.
The slide will operate both in dry and wet mode, and by sitting in a special boat, everyone, regardless of age, will be able to slide down and stay dry.
To ensure that the slide meets the needs of the target audience, they are inviting the public to participate in the planning phase of the project. People can indicate their preferences and expectations in a questionnaire shared on the Ski Arena’s Facebook page.
At the moment, this village in Veszprém county is best known for its ski arena. According to their Facebook post, the aim of the slide-project is to put Eplény on the world tourism map.
