Opposition LMP on Sunday outlined a three-point proposal to improve the situation of special education teachers in Hungary.
LMP proposes that special education allowances should be doubled, lawmaker Péter Ungár told an online press conference, arguing that the current monthly rate ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 forints (EUR 17-34) was too low and state-funded institutions were having a hard time retaining teachers.
The party also wants to increase the base salaries of special education teachers, especially for beginning teachers in the interest of encouraging them to stay in the public sector, Ungár said.

Finally, LMP proposes that the state should cover the specialist training of special education teachers, he said.
