Birth Rate Decreases in First Two Months, Deaths Up

In the first two months of 2021, the rate of population decline increased, with the birth rate decreasing by 5.0 percent and the death rate growing by 6.5 percent compared with the same period last year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.

Fully 14,390 children were born in Jan-Feb, 762 fewer than a year earlier. At the same time, 24,419 people died, 1,499 more than during the same period last year.
