According to the Oscar winning actress’ official Twitter account, Jennifer Lawrence arrived in Budapest yesterday in order to film her latest movie, Red Sparrow.
The film, which is set to be released in November of 2017, is a spy thriller based on a novel by American author Jason Matthews.
According to variety.com, the film
is set in modern-day Russia in the intelligence bureaucracy with a young woman drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress assigned to operate against a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young intelligence officers fall into a spiral of attraction and deception that results in her leading life as a double agent.
The film also stars Jeremy Irons, Joel Edgerton, and Matthias Schoenaerts, meaning that it is extremely likely that the Hungarian capital will see even more celebrity visitors in the near future, if they aren’t here already.
