János Martonyi, Hungary’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs became the member of the Friends of Hungary foundation’s Board of Trustees on 18 June. With the arrival of Mr. Martonyi the board grows to five persons: E. Sylvester Vizi, the foundation’s chairman and former president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), Mariann Vízkelety, Vice President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), Eugene Megyesy Jr., Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Hungary, as well as István Fodor, Széchenyi Prize-winning electrical engineer.
The goal of the Friends of Hungary foundation is to follow and document Hungarian successes of social, cultural, scientific and economic nature anywhere in the world. With the help of its community, the foundation contributes to the worldwide acknowledgement of Hungary and Hungarian successes. As Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi also worked towards the goal of making the country successful, supporting the development of stronger ties between Hungarians home and abroad.
