Italian Church Restored after Earthquake with Help from Hungary
The Church of Sacro Cuore di Gesu (The Holy Heart of Jesus) was inaugurated in Tolentino, Central Italy, after its restoration – financed by Hungary – following an earthquake last year.
Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Resources of Hungary attended the ceremony. Balog said that the reopening of the church was “a moment of grace”.

He recalled that a year ago the town had asked Hungary to help them restore the church. He said that for centuries, priests, artists and scholars have been coming from Italy to Hungary and he added: “This time, we came to Tolentino.”

Hungary provided 150 million forints (EUR 480,000) for the restoration of the former monastic church known as San Benedetto da Norcia.
