Hungary’s UN Amb Gives Harvard Lecture on 1956

MTI-Hungary Today 2018.11.30.

Katalin Bogyay, Hungary’s Ambassador to the United Nations, on Thursday at Harvard University gave a lecture on the 1956 revolution and uprising, and its impact on global politics.

After the lecture, she handed over a copy of a sculpture entitled Cry for Freedom commemorating 1956 to Mark Kramer, head of Harvard’s Cold War studies programme. The sculpture is by French artist Hedva Ser, a UN special envoy for cultural diplomacy.

Professor Kramer helped to organise events held at Hungary’s UN mission in New York during the 1956 Memorial Year, and he contributed to its related publication.
