Hungarian swimming icon Katinka Hosszú – three times Olympic winner in Rio – has won the Sportswoman of the Year Award. At the same time Portugal’s football legend Cristiano Ronaldo was named the best sportsman of the year.
The prestigious recognition, awarded by the European edition of the International Sports Press Association (AISP), went to Hosszú and Ronaldo for the first time in their career. Ronaldo was followed by tennis ace Andy Murray and Formula 1 championship winner Nico Rosberg, while Hungary’s Iron Lady got more preferances than German tennis player Angelique Kerber and British cyclist Laura Trott.
