Flights between Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport and London’s Luton carry more passengers than on any other route connecting the Hungarian capital, data compiled by Eurostat show.
About 240,000 passengers travelled on flights between Liszt Ferenc and Luton in 2015, according to the data. The second-most popular destination, in terms of passenger numbers, was Frankfurt am Main (215,400), followed by Charles de Gaulle in Paris (214,600), London’s Stansted (184,700) and Amsterdam’s Schiphol (165,600).
Some 10.3 million passengers used Liszt Ferenc in 2015, operator Budapest Airport said. Just over 79% of all passengers who used Liszt Ferenc in 2015 were travelling within the European Union, the Eurostat data show.
