Hungary has overtaken countries such as Australia, the Netherlands or Canada to be named the world’s 11th best place to live in terms of quality of life, a survey carried out by the expat social network InterNations reveals.
The survey, which asked at least fifty of its users in each country of the world to rate factors such as happiness, health, political stability and “peacefulness”, found Singapore to be the best place in the world to live for expatriates, followed by Ecuador, Austria, Switzerland and Portugal. Hungary ranked eleventh on the overall list and seventh in the sub-category of leisure options, nineteenth for personal happiness and tenth for travel and transport. The country is not featured among the top twenty in the fourth sub-category, health, safety and well-being.
