Hungary Temps Reach Record High, Again

Temperatures in Hungary reached a record high for February 2, hitting 18.2 C. in the village of Drávaszabolcs in southern Hungary on Sunday, the national weather service said on its Facebook page.

The previous record of 18.1 C. was measured in the village of Főnyed in south-western Hungary in 1965, according to data from the weather service.

Temperature rises to record high for January 31

Hungary’s temperature rose to a record high on January 31. The mercury hit 16.7 C. in the village of Drávaszabolcs in southern Hungary on Friday, the national weather service said on its Facebook page.

The previous record of 16.4 C. was measured in the village of Homokszentgyörgy in south-western Hungary in 1965, according to data from the weather service.

Temperatures exceeded 11 C. in many parts of western and central Hungary in the afternoon but were roughly 14 degrees lower than the record temperature in the north-eastern border regions, the service added.
