The Hungarian Armed Forces has recruited its 10,000th volunteer reservist.
Addressing a festive army personnel meeting at a Budapest base on Wednesday, Defence Ministry State Secretary Szilárd Németh praised the military’s reservist recruitment push as “an incredible success story”, arguing that in 2010 Hungary had only 17 reservists.
The state secretary said volunteers were the most fit to provide a credible representation of the military to the public.
