Hungary’s HungaroControl will remain in charge of controlling Kosovo’s airspace from April on for an indefinite period of time under a decision by the North Atlantic Council, minister without portfolio Andrea Bártfai-Mager announced on Thursday.
HungaroControl has controlled transit flights over Kosovo from its Budapest headquarters since 2014.
HungaroControl CEO Kornel Szepessy said that Hungarian air controllers managed nearly 116,000 flights in 2018, noting that traffic has considerably increased in recent years.
