Hungarians’ Average Income Grows

The net and gross average income of Hungarians both grew by 3% in the January-June period, compared to the same period of 2013, reported the Central Statistics Office (Központi Statisztikai Hivatal, KSH) on Friday. The average gross income was EUR 750 (235.000 HUF), while the average net income was EUR 490 (153.900).

Those who work for companies brought home a gross income of EUR 800 (250.000 HUF), while in the public sector this number was EUR 650 (205.900 HUF). The average net income was was EUR 490 (153.900), but this data has been stripped of family benefits, which also grew by 0.8% in the last six months. According to KSH, the average net income, including family benefits, was EUR 512 (160.700 HUF).

The highest average income by sector was in the financial and insurance  sector, where the gross income was EUR 1570 (493.600 HUF), which was followed by the IT and communications sector with EUR 1456 (457.200 HUF), EUR 1310 and energetic sector with (411.000 HUF).

The lowest income sectors were the healthcare and social sector with EUR 452 (142.200 HUF), while tourism and accommodation saw an average of EUR 482 (152.100 HUF) gross income. Those working in agriculture, forestry and fishery could bring home EUR 542 (170.300 HUF) at the end of the month. (MTI)
