The Hungarian version of the hugely popular talent show X-Factor has found its champion. The winner of the 2016 X-Faktor, whose finale was held last Friday, is Barbi Opitz.
Over the course of the show Barbi, a young woman from the eastern Hungarian town of Fehérgyarmat, beat out the competition to become this year’s champion. She beat out fellow finalists Dmitrij Gorbunov and Ricsi Mata to win the 2016 crown.
Barbi’s mentor on the show, Hungarian pop singer Gabi Tóth, was naturally thrilled about her pick’s victory; here are the two of them together on the night of the finale following a duet the pair sang together:
Following the results of voting, Ricsi Mata ended up in second-place, while Dmitrij Gorbunov finished this year’s X-Faktor in third. The difference between the two, however, came down to the wire, as Mata prevailed over Gorbunov by a mere 14 votes.
