The UEFA Referees Committee has announced that Britain’s Mark Clattenburg will referee Sunday’s UEFA EURO 2016 final between Portugal and France at Saint-Denis. At the same time Hungary’s Viktor Kassai, who has been a strong candidate for the job as well, was named fourth official for the final game of the tournament, while fellow Hungarian György Ring will serve as a reserve assistant referee.
Viktor Kassai and his Hungarian referee team (György Ring, Vencel Tóth, Tamás Bognár and Ádám Farkas) were assigned to two group games and a quater final of the Euro 2016 tournament. Kassai took charge of the opening match between France and Romania (2-1), Italy’s Group E victory over Sweden (1-0) and Germany’s penalty shoot-out triumph over Italy in the quarter finals last Saturday.
