Szerencsejáték Zrt., the state-owned lottery company of Hungary has plans to join the international lottery market, reported világgazdaság.hu. Szerencsejáték Zrt. has since confirmed the rumors, but they declined to provide additional information as negotiations are still underway.
According to German sources the Hungarian lottery, along with its Czech Republic and Slovakia counterparts, is planing to join EuroJackpot lottery from October, although this is yet another rumor yet to be confirmed. The company earlier earlier expressed its intentions of joining the international lottery market and began legal preparations.
Szerencsejáték Zrt is the only major gambling service provider in Hungary. It has exclusive rights to distribute number draw games, sports bets and prize draw tickets throughout the entire territory of the country, while it also has interests in four Hungarian casinos.
