Hungarian Golfer May Participate At Rio Olympics


17-year-old Hungarian Csilla Rózsa has been classified a professional player, which means that she will be able to participate at around 23 tournaments of the Women’s Professional Golf Association (WPGA) and collect ranking points to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to a statement issued by th Hungarian Golf Association on Sunday, Ms. Rózsa finished in the imposing 17th position out of 120 contestants at a qualifier for the 2015 Ladies European Tour held at th Samanah Golf Club in Marrakech, Morocco, this weekend. Her performance qualified her to be reclassified as a professional player.

Players – a maximum of 60 – will be invited to take part in the 2016 Rio Olympics on the basis of their scores on professional rankings.
