Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog Receives Poland’s Order of Merit

Polish President Andrzej Duda has decorated Hungarian Human Resources Minister Zoltan Balog with Poland’s Order of Merit, Commander’s Cross, in recognition of his efforts to further bilateral relations.

The honour was handed over to Balog by Elzbieta Rafalska, Poland’s family and labour minister, at the Polish embassy in Budapest on Wednesday night.

At the ceremony, Polish ambassador Jerzy Snopek said in his laudation that Balog is associated with a number of initiatives aimed at deepening ties between the two nations, in terms of both local and national joint projects. Balog is a “perfect example of serving politics and ethics, serving political power and the people at the same time,” the ambassador said. He also noted the minister’s “special relationship” to ethnic minorities in Hungary, which, he said, was a “great gift” for Hungary’s Polish community.
