High State Honour Bestowed to BlackRock Budapest’s Head
Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó on Thursday bestowed the Order of Merit, Knight’s Cross, to Melanie Seymour, head of fund manager BlackRock’s Budapest office.
At the ceremony, the minister spoke highly of BlackRock’s investment in Hungary, and noted that the fund manager’s office in Budapest now employs 300 people. BlackRock, he said, has also offered opportunities to young Hungarians to return from abroad and carry on their careers in Hungary.
The New York-based fund manager employs nearly 13,000 people in 30 countries. It runs 25,000 investment centres around the world and manages over 5,000 billion dollars.
