Gov’t to Allocate HUF 150 Billion to Developments in Tourism

The government is allocating another 150 billion forints (EUR 423.7m) to the full revamping of tourist accommodations and other developments, the head of the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Tuesday.

All privately-owned accommodations will receive one million forints per room for development and reconstruction, Zoltán Guller said.

Speaking at the inauguration of newly revamped parts of the Hotel Kolping in western Hungary, Guller said the government is also aiding the restart of the tourism industry with developing open-air pools and other attractions. It is also funding the purchase of new ships to serve on Lake Balaton, he added.
