The government will raise normative funding for social institutions by 36 percent next year, a government official said on Wednesday.
Funding will be raised for all institutions operated by municipalities, civil organisations and churches, Attila Fülöp, a state secretary of the human resources ministry, said in Biatorbágy, west of Budapest, during an event marking Day of Social Work.
The social sector will command society’s attention better if its services are better represented, Fülöp said. Accordingly, the government is launching an information campaign on the foster parent system and will continue campaigns regarding services for people living with disabilities and the elderly, he said.
