Govt Official: Upgraded Paks to Be ‘Safe, Competitive’
MTI-Hungary Today 2019.04.15.
Hungary’s Paks nuclear plant, once its upgrade is complete, will be “safe, competitive and well-functioning”, Pál Kovács, state secretary in charge of the upgrade project, told this year’s Atomexpo forum in Sochi on Monday.
The state secretary added that the upgraded facility will “meet European standards in every one of its components”.
Russia’s Rosatom, the project’s general contractor, “regularly supplies its plans necessary for the construction permits”, Kovács said, noting that the project has already been granted an environmental protection permit.
