Hungary’s civil guard represents modern patriotism today, the prime minister’s commissioner for social affairs said in Felsőtarkány, in northern Hungary, on Saturday, marking the regional Civil Guard Day.
Members of the civil guard watch over the safety of municipalities and families, contribute to Hungary’s border protection efforts and the fight against migration, Zsolt Nyitrai said. During the novel coronavirus epidemic, they helped look after the elderly and patrolled public spaces, he added.
