Four Hungarian men who gang-raped a Colombian female hitchhiker near Budapest in 2010 are facing prison sentences of up to 15 years.
The four men are accused by a Hungarian court of narcotising and repeatedly raping a Colombian tourist six years ago, in April 2010. The woman, who was studying in Germany, was heading to the Slovakian capital Bratislava and accepted the four men’s offer to take her to the city from Népileget coach station (pictured) in exchange for 50 euros after she missed her bus.
However, the group instead took her to the outskirts of Érd, a Buda suburb, where she was first forced to drink a stupefying fluid and then raped by all four men. She was subsequently thrown out of the car in Budapest’s District XI. The gang is now standing trial at Budaörs district court for aggravated sexual assault and criminal restraint.
The four men, who have been in pre-trial detention since May 2015, are now facing up to fifteen years in jail each for the attack.
