Condé Nast Traveler, one of the world’s leading tourism magazines, announced the results of this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards, in which their readers rated their top hotels in Central Europe, from Zurich to Salzburg. Budapest hotels ranked high on the list, with a total of four Hungarian establishments among the best 20 hotels in the region.
Aria Hotel Budapest was ranked fifth on the prestigious compilation, while Four Seasons Gresham Palace finished in ninth place. Intercontinental Budapest made it to the 18th, while Corinthia Hotel Budapest finished 20th on the list.
This year, Switzerland was also included in the Central European region, so almost half of the top 20 list consists of Swiss hotels. Interestingly, in addition to the Swiss and the two Hungarian hotels, only one hotel from Prague made it to the top 10. In the next ten places, there are several Austrian hotels as well. Only hotels from Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic have made it to the top 20 on the region listings.
Founded by tourism magazine Condé Nast Traveler, the Readers Choice Awards is an annual selection, based on reader reviews. It is the longest-running and considered to be the most prestigious recognition in the travel industry.
This year, the questionnaire of the Readers’ Choice Awards was filled in by a record number of over 600,000 readers worldwide. Aria Hotel Budapest by Library Hotel Collection was already ranked first in 2016 and 2018, and was awarded second place in 2017. This year, only four Swiss hotels preceded it.
