Fidesz proposes parliamentary response to Sargentini report

Miklós Halász-Szabó 2018.09.06.

The Hungarian parliament should pass a decree in response to the Sargentini report on the state of the rule of law in the country, the group leader of ruling Fidesz told a press conference on Wednesday.

Máté Kocsis noted that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán would participate in the European Parliament’s debate on the report “padded with lies” next week, and expressed his party’s wish that the premier should promote Hungary’s interests and “reject Hungary’s stigmatisation”.

Govt Hits Back At Sargentini’s Accusations

The EP’s “pro-migration” members seek to “condemn Hungary because its people have clearly and repeatedly decided that (illegal) migrants should be stopped at the border”, Kocsis insisted.
