About 6-7000 people visited the XVI. Coca Cola Family Sport Day on Sunday at Kopaszi Dam, titled “Festival of Movement”. Organizers labeled the event a great success on Monday, saying that promoting a healthier lifestyle and sports is always a great result, and they are glad for the immense turnout.
The Kopaszi Dam event was organized by the Hungarian Recreational Sports Association (Magyar Szabadidősport Szövetség, MSZSZ), which mainly dealt in women’s sport days, but for 2014 the association decided to extend their previous program to the whole family. At a Monday press event, chairman of the association Attila Czene said, they have reached their goals.
“Many warned us that a free event would not see something valuable, and people will not come because of this. On the contrary, we had more visitors than in previous years. I was happy to see that not only young women visited the event, but children, men, parents and grandparents as well”, said Czene.
The number of people doing regular sports is on the rise, said secretary of state István Simicskó. This event illustrated that year after year, more and more people want to do sports, said Simicskó. Due to the work of previous years, the number of active adults has risen to by 5%, and now stand on 15%, added the secretary of state. (MTI)
