ELTE Orders Two-Week Quarantine for Students, Staff Who Travelled to Areas Hit by Coronavirus
MTI-Hungary Today 2020.03.06.
Budapest’s Eötvös Lóránd University has ordered a two-week quarantine for students and staff returning form areas affected by the new coronavirus, the university said on its website on Friday.
The website said staff and students who returned from China, South Korea, northern Italy and Iran in the past 14 days, or met people who did so, are asked to self-isolate in their homes and stay away from university events. Quarantine should be maintained until March 19, the website said.
Of the four confirmed Covid-19 cases in Hungary, two are students studying courses organised jointly by ELTE and the Semmelweis University, and one is the girlfriend of one of the students. All three are Iranian nationals.
The university is cancelling indefinitely the courses the two students had attended, and has called on staff and students who attended the classes in the past fortnight to stay away from the ELTE campus, the website said.
