It’s almost a cliché that Hungarian women are among the world’s most beautiful, but the country has now outperformed the rest of the world with the good looks of an eight-year-old boy!
Eight-year-old Tamás Péter Kovács, of Kenderes in southeastern Hungary, has been voted the world’s most handsome young boy at the 2015 Princess & Prince pageant, a worldwide child beauty contest held in Moscow, Russia. It is the highest position ever achieved by a Hungarian child at a worldwide beauty pageant.
“Our happiness cannot be described, we didn’t hope until the very last moment that Toncsi will win. The field was very strong, a total of 38 children ran. We spent a week in Moscow, with rehearsals and interviews going on in the first days in English and Russian. Despite language difficulties, everything went fine and we cried tears of joy together when the results were announced”, the boy’s mother said.
The proud mum revealed that her son was contacted by a Russian model agency after getting good results at Hungarian contests. Organisers were impressed by his portfolio and invited him to the Moscow event.
“Hungarian kids are very popular at these pageants, but we never succeeded in gaining such a good result in my fifteen-year career. I’m very proud of Tamás and happy for his success. His victory means that he has received an invitation to a further major world contest, to be held in Los Angeles in the summer”, Ildikó Bartalovics, head of the Sztárcsemete model agency, said.
Among girls, 14-year-old Hungarian Lili Kovács (no relation) was selected into the top four runners-up to the title.
