Lawmakers of the leftist Democratic Coalition (DK) party will not vote for the government’s action plan for family protection as it supports only a wealthy minority of Hungarian families, the party said on Monday.

Zsolt Gréczy, spokesman of the party’s parliamentary group, noted that DK has submitted its own package of proposal for families, but the ruling Fidesz and Christian Democrat parties rejected it before it could have gone before parliament.

Answering a question on whether the opposition parties have consulted each other on the action plan, Gréczy said that the opposition parties decide independently on their approach to the proposal.
