Stunning Design Plans of New Park in Budapest Revealed

Péter Cseresnyés 2021.01.14.

The construction of a new park will soon begin in Budapest in the XIII district. The local government will reorganize a nearly 1-hectare grassy area between Esztergomi Avenue and Párkány Street near the Árpád Bridge, the central element of which will be an artificial lake. The deputy mayor of the district has now published the beautiful design plans for the ‘Vizafogó’ park.

In his Facebook post, local deputy mayor Gábor Puchner called the project one of the most important municipal developments of this year, the central elements of which will be an “eco-park” design, natural surface exterior, climate protection, and sustainability.

The future park is planned to be planted with dozens of pre-cultivated trees and 9,500 perennial plants which will be irrigated by an automatic rain-sensing system equipped with drilled groundwater well, Puchner writes.

The landscape architect of the park is the OBJEKT landscape architect office, and the architectural designer is Archi-kon Kft.
