This summer’s most important international upcoming sport event is the Olympic Games of 2016 in Rio. At the upcoming Games, at least 162 Hungarian athletes are going to represent Hungary, compete and struggle for the success of the Hungarian nation. The Games will start on the 5th of August in the second most populous city of Brazil.
The Hungarian Olympians’ oath ceremony was held at Budapest’s Palace of Arts, known by its acronym MÜPA, one of Hungary’s best known cultural brands and one of its most modern cultural institutions. In 2016, the number of the Hungarian swimmers increased to 37 and Réka Luca Jani tennis player also got the quote to take part on the Olympic Games. According to the plans of the Hungarian Olympic Committee 211-232 athletes will represent Hungary within the world competition.
Hungary is ranked for the 8th on the integrated table of medals. Although, if we compare the results of the athletes to the population ratio, Hungarians are the 3rd most successful nation.
Within the ceremony organized by Csaba Káel, they reviewed on victorious moments of the Hungarians on the former Olympic Games. After the speech of János Áder President of Hungary the performers stood on the stage such as the Ballet of Győr and Irie Maffia.
