Coronavirus: Hospital Numbers, Patients on Ventilators at New Record High

Fully 189 generally elderly patients with co-morbidities died over the past 24 hours, while 9,046 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The number of active infections has risen to 188,525, while hospitals are caring for 11,276 Covid patients, 1,340 of whom need respiratory assistance.

Altogether 43,961 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests stands at 4,315,305.

Since the first outbreak, 580,642 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 18,451. Fully 373,666 people have made a recovery.

Altogether 1,589,601 people have been vaccinated in Hungary, 479,389 of whom have received a second shot, the portal said.

On March 5, the government announced further strict measures.
