Two Iranian university students have been expelled from Hungary for leaving a hospital where they were ordered to stay in quarantine due to coronavirus, the interior ministry said on Friday.
The two men had repeatedly left their room in St. László Hospital and would refuse to return when they were warned, the statement said, adding that they had behaved aggressively with staff at the hospital.
As we have reported, there were “communication problems” between the Iranian students and the hospital staff.
The two Iranians have been transported to the Hungarian border by the national immigration authority, but their expulsion has been suspended until further arrangements, the ministry said. The two 23 year-old men will be banned from returning to Hungary for three years, the statement added.
