Semmelweis University’s Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (AITK) published a photo report of its yellow and red zones. This is the first part of a photo series with which the university seeks to shed light on the areas of the its healthcare department that are most directly impacted by the coronavirus.
Semmelweis’ article states that the university has never had to provide care to this many patients, but that they consider it their obligation to be actively involved in helping the sick recover.
Photographer for the university’s Communications Directorate Attila Kovács took the photos which have been compiled into a gallery.
The photos are quite rare, since they depict scenes which Hungary’s media has had little access to. While there is plenty of footage of vaccinations and healthcare workers, few photographers have been able to get as close to the reality of the situation in intensive care units as Kovács.
