Fully 274 patients died over the past 24 hours, while 4,609 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

Since the first outbreak, 645,733 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 20,435. Fully 402,964 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has risen to 222,334 while hospitals are caring for 12,553 Covid patients, 1,529 of whom need respiratory assistance.

The actual number of people in official home quarantine, the number of tests stands, and the number of people vaccinated have yet to be published.

On March 5, the government announced further strict measures.
