Coronavirus: 130 Fatalities, 2,764 New Infections Registered in Hungary

Fully 130 Covid patients, generally elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, died over the past 24 hours, while 2,764 new infections were officially registered, bringing the total number of infected to 435,689, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The death toll has risen to 15,188, while 324,202 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has risen at 96,299, while there are 6,071 hospitalized Covid patients, 581 on ventilators.

Altogether 35,023 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out has risen to 3,693,390.

Hungary began rolling out the coronavirus vaccine in December. So far, 721,677 people have received their first jab, and 252,847 have been fully inoculated.

The government has extended coronavirus-related restrictions until March 15.
