After the introduction of new coronavirus travel restrictions on Sunday – placing countries into red, yellow and green categories according to the current level of coronavirus infections – the government announced that exceptions from the general categorization will apply to different regions of foreign countries. The new restrictions are in place as of Thursday. The initial categorization of countries has not been changed.

The government issued a minor modification to the new system of travel restrictions introduced on Sunday. From now on, if a country is categorized as yellow or red but a certain region of the country has a demonstrably low level of infection, the region in question may be labeled ‘green’ by authorities. In this case, the rules applying to green countries would apply to the region in question – regardless of the color code of the entire country.
