Coronavirus: 152 Fatalities, Number of Active Infections Surpasses 100,000

Fully 152 Covid patients, generally elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, died over the past 24 hours, while 6,278 new infections were officially registered, bringing the total number of infected to 446,178, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.

The death toll has risen to 15,476, while 328,136 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has risen at 102,566, while there are 6,554 hospitalized Covid patients, 639 on ventilators.

Altogether 41,440 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out has risen to 3,749,907.

Hungary began rolling out the coronavirus vaccine in December. So far, 785,440 people have received their first jab, and 267,153 have been fully inoculated.

The government has extended coronavirus-related restrictions until March 15.
