The number of patients confirmed to have contracted the new coronavirus in Hungary has increased by 28 to 3,741 in the last 24 hours, while another 4 new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of fatalities to 486, while a total of 1690 people have recovered from the illness, according to koronavirus.gov.hu, the official government information website for the epidemic.
Yesterday, the number of those infected was 3,713. According to the government website, the total number of those recovered has reached 1690. Currently, there are 442 coronavirus patients being treated with the disease in hospital, 28 of whom requires ventilator treatment.
A total of 11,934 people are in official home quarantine and the authorities have taken 162,925 samples. The majority of cases were reported from Budapest, with 1,780 positive cases, and the neighbouring Pest county (525). These areas are followed by Fejér county (367) and Zala County (245). The smallest numbers were reported from Békés (11) and Heves county (13).
The website also noted that Hungary is currently in the second phase of the fight against coronavirus, when the restrictions are lifted in the whole country. They warned however that the virus is still spreading and it is at utmost importance to continue to follow general precautions.
The aim now, is to gradually resume normal living in line with a strict schedule, it added. Kindergartens will also open gradually from Monday on, while in schools, the digital work schedule will remain in force until the end of the school year. A government decree regulating the operation of schools in June has already been published in the Hungarian Official Gazette.
