New Daily Record: 576 New Cases Registered in 24 Hours

The number of registered coronavirus infections in Hungary has risen by 576 to 8,963 over the past 24 hours, and one patient has died, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday morning.

This is yet again a new daily record. In the past days, new records were set multiple times.

There are 4,377 active cases in Hungary, which is also a new record, again.

The number of fatalities has increased to 625, and 3,961 people have made a recovery.

164 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital for Covid-19, eleven on ventilators. Fully 21,756 people are in official quarantine and 481,424 tests have been carried out.

The site warned Hungarians to observe social distancing guidelines and hygiene regulations.

The government has decided to close borders to foreigners, with certain exceptions, re-introducing border protection measures in force during the first wave of the epidemic. Under the decision Hungarians returning from abroad will have to self-quarantine for 14 days, or until they produce two negative tests taken two days apart.
