Coronavirus: 115 Fatalities, Only 2,696 New Infections Registered in Hungary

Fully 115 Covid patients, generally elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, died over the past 24 hours, while 2,696 new infections were officially registered, bringing the total number of infected to 468,713, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The death toll has risen to 15,988, while 336,744 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has risen to 115,981, while there are 7,924 hospitalized Covid patients, 806 on ventilators.

Altogether 37,343 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out has risen to 3,874,513.

Hungary began rolling out the coronavirus vaccine in December. So far, 1,002,714 people have received their first jab.

On Thursday, the government announced further strict measures.
