Fully 51 coronavirus patients died over the past 24 hours, while 780 new infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 115,029. The number of people in need of hospital care has also decreased: hospitals are now caring for 1,836 Covid patients, 212 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the first outbreak, 800,368 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 29,380. Fully 655,959 people have made a recovery.

There are 16,210 people in official quarantine, while 5,687,117 tests have been officially carried out.

So far 4,829,595 people have received a first jab, while 2,814,805 have been fully vaccinated.

On March 5th, the government announced further strict measures, but the reopening has started, since the number of people inoculated with the first jab has reached 2.5 million.

On April 30th, Hungary reached another milestone as the number of vaccinated people surpassed 4 million.  Therefore, new rules further easing restrictions have come into force.
