Fully 64 coronavirus patients died over the past 24 hours, while 382 new infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 128,714. The number of people in need of hospital care has also decreased: hospitals are now caring for 2,197  Covid patients, 251 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the first outbreak, 798,955 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 29,277. Fully 640,964 people have made a recovery.

There are 16,088 people in official quarantine, while 5,656,131 tests have been officially carried out.

So far 4,714,992 people have received a first jab, while 2,749,235 have been fully vaccinated.

On March 5th, the government announced further strict measures, but the reopening has started, since the number of people inoculated with the first jab has reached 2.5 million.

On April 30th, Hungary reached another milestone as the number of vaccinated people surpassed 4 million.  Therefore, new rules further easing restrictions have come into force.
