12 patients, generally elderly with co-morbidities, died over the past 24 hours, while 137 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Sunday.
The number of active infections went down to 59,991, while hospitals are treating 602 Covid patients, 68 of whom need respiratory assistance.
Since the first outbreak, 806,008 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 29,854. Fully 716,163 people have made a recovery.
There are 7,093 people in official quarantine, while 5,910,248 tests have been officially carried out.
So far 5,260,418 people have received a first jab, while 3,989,525 have been fully vaccinated.
On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations.
